Carbon Valley Academy Awards and Achievements
2011
Carbon Valley Academy received an award of distinction from the St. Vrain Valley School District. This award was presented to CVA at a leadership meeting on September 1, 2011.
- The award was given to only 16 schools in the St. Vrain Valley School District.
- The award is given for academic achievement on state assessments
- Academic growth by students on state assessments is recognized
- Dedication to results is acknowledged
- Data driven instruction is honored
Carbon Valley Academy entered 7 competitive teams and 1 non-competitive Primary team in the Odyssey of the Mind Regional Tournament. Three of the teams advance to the State Tournament:
Extreme Mousemobiles Division 1 placed 1st!
Unhinged Structure Division 1 placed 3rd!
Unhinged Structure Division 2 placed 4th!
From the State Tournament, the 8th Grade team went on to the World Finals in Washington D.C. where they placed 38th in the world!
2010
Carbon Valley Academy Middle School was awarded the "2010 Governor's Distinguished Improvement Award" for "Outstanding Academic Performance."
Four of CVA's Odyssey of the Mind Teams qualified for State and one went on to compete and the World Finals!
2009
Carbon Valley Academy was named a "High Performing School" by the Colorado Department of Education. View the list here. Congratulations!
