Carbon Valley Academy Board of Directors

 

The Carbon Valley Academy is governed by a board of directors. Currently, directors are the parents of CVA students and members of the business community. Board elections will be held yearly beginning in the spring of 2007. The board hires and supervises the principal who in turn hires and supervises school staff.

Scott Ramsaur

Scott RamsaurOriginally from Atlanta Georgia, Scott lives in Longmont with his wife Deena, and two children, Taylor and Kody. Scott is a 5th Degree Black Belt, and a certified Master Instructor. He has served as a professional owner / operator of a martial arts studio for 19 years, where he has been nationally recognized for his original approach to developing character building and leadership programs specifically for children.

 

Some relevant features of his background include education abroad for 4 years at the American School in London (an international K-12 charter school) with which he still maintains strong ties, undergraduate degrees in English Literature and Business Economics from the Colorado College in Colorado Springs, and a professional consulting career managing and opening successful karate schools across the country from 1985 to present. Scott is also currently working on his masters in primary and secondary education at the University of Phoenix.

Micol InginoMicol Ingino has lived in Frederick with her husband Seth and their three sons, Theron (12), Ezra (7) and Levi (4) for 7 years.  The two oldest boys are currently attending CVA and the youngest son will be attending as soon as he reaches kindergarten age.
 
Other than being a Stay-At-Home mom, over the past 10 years Micol has helped her family manage two separate small businesses from home.  She loves spending time with her family, making new friends and keeping up with old ones.  She also enjoys baking, skiing, being outdoors, working on various home improvement projects around their house and is passionate about being involved with her children's education.
 
She is always there to help people out whenever needed and is dedicated to working together with parents, staff and other Board members in continuing Carbon Valley Academy Charter Schools mission and vision.
 
She is truly honored to be a part of the community and the CVA family. 

 

 

Sharon Jarrett

Sharon Jarrett is a 7-year resident of Firestone. Her career over the past 25 years has been focused primarily in education and other non-profit settings. She has worked for private, for profit, and state universities as well as several charter schools, private schools and school districts. Sharon is passionately committed to making a difference in education in whatever way she can. She is currently the Business Manager at a private K-12 school in Boulder. Before accepting that position, she had her own consulting business working with schools (K-12) and small non-profits in the areas of board relations, fundraising, software implementations and trainings, and process analysis and re-engineering.

 

Sharon is pursuing a Master of Non Profit Management degree and holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. She is also a published writer and poet. Her personal interests include running, weight training, Pilates, holistic nutrition, reading and jewelry making.
