If you wish to contact Mr. O’Connor at school, his office is located in the library/music room
on the first floor of CVA. On school days he is usually there from 7:30 until 4:30 or 5:00.

Musically in 2008-2009, there is so much to offer at Carbon Valley Academy!

♪          Students will continue to learn to play the soprano recorder in our Recorder Ensembles, & improve their singing skills in CVA’s Choir.

♪          Students will continue to study works by the greatest composers in history, during Core Knowledge Music Appreciation classes.

♪          Students will sing songs and perform on their recorders during Core Knowledge Discovery Nights (one grade will perform each month).

♪         2nd-9th grade students will be singing & dancing in our 1960’s Show, which will be performed in May (rehearsals: Mondays 3-4 P.M.).

♪          CVA’s Beginner Band which will begin in November will be directed by Mr. O'Connor (rehearsals will be Wednesdays 3-4 P.M).

♪          Intermediate & Advanced recorder students will be improving their superior skills during Recorder Club (rehearsals: Fridays 3-4 P.M.).

♪          The CVA year end Talent Show will again feature our extremely gifted children from all grades.

!           1st-3rd grade Chess players (all levels welcome) will be playing chess against their peers during Chess Club (Thursdays 3-4 P.M.).

! 4th-9th grade Chess players (all levels welcome) will be playing chess against ttheir peers in Advanced Chess Club (Tuesdays 3-4 P.M.).
