Carbon Valley Academy Charter Schools
The Carbon Valley Academy Charter Schools are a preschool through twelfth grade public charter school with high academic standards, a structured learning environment, a passionate teaching staff, effective school leadership, and a positive school culture that strives to improve and achieve. Carbon Valley Academy Charter Schools are located on 3 separate campuses, with each school having its own website:
- Carbon Valley Academy ("CVA"), located at 4040 Coriolis Way in Frederick, houses the CVA Charter School's administration and is home of the Kindergarten through 5th grade programs. You are currently visiting CVA's website.
- Carbon Valley Secondary Academy ("CVSA"), located at 7990 Miller Drive in Frederick, is home of the 6th through 12th grade programs. Starting in 2008/2009, CVSA will add 9th grade and will add one grade per year until we have our first high school graduation in 2012! Visit our Carbon Valley Secondary Academy website to learn more about the programs and curriculum.
- Carbon Valley Academy Preschool ("CVA Preschool", located at 157 5th Street in Frederick, is the home of the preschool and pre-kindergarten programs. Visit our Carbon Valley Academy Preschool website for additional information about our outstanding early education program.
CVA was founded on the belief that our students, parents and community deserve a high quality education that exceeds educational standards. The school focuses on building students' character and challenging students to work at their ability level.
CVA also believes in high parental involvement within the school setting. We serve the communities of Firestone, Frederick and Dacono, Colorado and the surrounding areas.
CVA uses a Core Knowledge based curriculum in all grades through 8th grade, including preschool. Spanish, art, and PE are also taught and we offer music and other popular extra-curricular activities.

Volunteerism at
Carbon Valley Academy |
CVA believes in a high level of parental involvement within the school setting. In fact, volunteers are what make CVA such a special place for our students. Parents volunteer in the classroom, in the library, on various committees, and at special events. We couldn't do it without our volunteers!

Building Character in CVA Students: |
Work Hard, Be Nice. These four little words mean a lot at CVA. The CVA learning environment encourages students to achieve academically while building strong personal character.
The CVA Code of Conduct is founded on the following nine character traits:
1. Responsibility
2. Work (ethic)
3. Compassion
4. Patriotism
5. Courage
6. Friendship
7. Honesty
8. Perseverance
9. Self-discipline
The essence of these 9 Character Traits are nicely summed up in CVA's motto: Work Hard, Be Nice. |
