Online Education Program at Carbon Valley Academy
Mission Statement:
The mission of Carbon Valley Academy Online Education Program is to serve the needs of students and assist them to achieve educational excellence by offering an innovative approach that builds on CVA's existing educational program.
Program Overview:
The CVA Online Education Program is designed to offer K-5 students an educationally sound program utilizing the curriculum of the onsite Core Knowledge curriculum. Students receive one-on-one academic attention at home from the parents and weekly onsite instruction from a Carbon Valley Academy teacher.
Tuition-Free: Tuition is free for students attending the CVA Online Education Program. For funding purposes, students are considered to be enrolled in CVA full-time and may not attend another public education program simultaneously (including CVA's regular onsite program).
Schedule:
August 2007 – June 2008
Testing:
All students will participate in academic testing. Those students in grades 3-5 will also take the CSAP tests.
Curriculum:
Students enrolled in the CVA Online Education Program will use the same curriculum as those students who are enrolled in CVA onsite program.
Clubs and Extra-Curricular Activities:
CVA Online Education Program students may participate in all CVA extra-curricular activities. Students enrolled in the Online Education Program are eligible to attend all Field Days and Academic events with the onsite CVA students.
