Volunteer Opportunities at Carbon Valley Academy
Each Carbon Valley Academy family commits to contributing a minimum of 30 volunteer service hours per school year (50 hours for families with two or more enrolled students). Any family member, including grandparents, can participate in meeting this requirement. There are many ways that your volunteer service hours can be met. Listed on this page, below the general volunteering information, and throughout the website, specific needs are listed. If you are interested in classroom volunteer activities, please contact your child's teacher to see if they have opportunities available.

Carbon Valley Academy has a volunteer coordinator, Tiffany Yenchus-Holcomb, who can be reached at volunteers@cvamail.com or 970-535-2848. Tiffany can answer questions regarding volunteering and she is always in need of help. Please complete and return the volunteer application so we can put you to work for CVA!

Keeping Track of Your Hours
Download the log sheet, and use it to keep track of your hours. You can turn it in via email at steent@cvamail.com or leave it in the Volunteer Log Book in the school lobby.

Volunteering After Hours - There are lots of things to do at CVA without actually being at the school. Ask your child’s teacher on a regular basis if there are things to take home, or if they need items donated. See the individual teachers' pages for needed items. Remember that for every $10 donated in cash or goods is equal to 1 hour of volunteer time. Many of our committees need help after hours as well.
If you would prefer to do volunteer work from home, please contact Jodi Jansen at jansenj@cvamail.com and she can arrange for projects you can do from home.
Grant Writing - We need people to help research grant opportunities, write grants, and work with Carbon Valley Academy's Board of Directors, principal and teachers to determine school needs and help track grant submissions and awards. Please read the Grant Writing Policy and contact the board liaison at wilsonb@cvamail.com if you're interested in helping out.
Library - If you would like to volunteer time staffing the library please contact us at librarian@cvamail.com.
